The startup, founded only two years ago by Mason Arnold, already is distributed in more than 1,400 stores in more than 35 states, including major retailers Whole Foods, Kroger, Target and Sprouts. But the private equity firm’s investment for an undisclosed amount, and the increased sales and marketing staff it will enable Veggie Noodle Co. to hire, will enable the company to grow its distribution significantly in the coming years, according to the company’s marketing 'gourdinator' Jennie Shen.
In addition, “we’re looking to expand our line in the near future to encompass many different nutritious and delicious vegetables that fulfill every palate craving,” Shen told FoodNavigator-USA, noting the company already offers USDA organic veggie spirals in sweet potato, zucchini, butternut squash and beets.
“At Veggie Noodle Co., we believe in simple nutrition and spreading the passion with others. We want to ensure that our good food is synonymous with sustainably grown food while meeting consumer needs,” which is why it is made in a dedicated allergen-free facility that produces zero food waste, she said.
She further explained that these values were built into the brand by Arnold who was driven to create Veggie Noodle Co. to meet his family’s dietary restrictions and feed “others who want to eat smarter while having fun in the kitchen.”
Because allergens can trigger serious reactions, and food safety is the industry’s and Veggie Noodle Co.’s “top concern,” Shen says the facility will “have industry-leading mitigation strategies and we will see SQF level 3 certification at our new plant.”
