French grape polyphenol supplier Ferco Développement has stepped up production capacity and increased its colorant range with the news this week that it has fully acquired the production plant Sefcal, a subsidiary of Chr Hansen, based in the Gard, France.

Resident in the ex-Sefcal plant for the last ten months, Ferco Développement has adapted the building and equipment to transfer its tannins, polyphenols and natural colour production into the newly refurbished plant.

In addition, in the last five years the Chr Hansen group modernised and rationalised the plant in order to double the production capacity. Ferco Développement, active in the nutraceutical market and the oenological grape tannin market, supplies, among others, Grap'tan and the functional food ingredient Grap'Active.
