Bone health beverages and fitness waters are at the core of new product concepts highlighted by the health unit of agri-giant Cargill at the upcoming Institute of Food Technologists' exhibition this month in Chicago.
Reflecting an overall drive in the food industry to promote foods using healthy ingredients, Cargill Health & Food Technologies will present concepts that focus on women's health, bone health, heart health and energy.
Ideas from the company for product formulation include Bone Appetit, that contains AdvantaSoy isoflavones and Oliggo-Fiber inulin, a fitness water containing Ascend trehalose, and Dulce de Latte, a caramel flavoured soy-based beverage containing AdvantaSoy isoflavones, Oliggo-Fiber inulin, and Prolisse soy protein isolate.
'Taste and convenience are essential. We are excited to show that with better ingredients we can broaden the scope of product possibilities,' said Jim Kappas, director of sales & marketing for Cargill H&FT.
The Institute of Food Technologists' Annual Meeting and Food Expo will take place in Chicago from 13 - 16 July.
