Communicating solid science key to busting food myths: IFT president

Food manufacturers need to do a better job educating consumers about the solid science that backs the nutrition and safety of their food products, according to IFT president Dr. Robert Gravani.

Dr. Gravani spoke with FoodNavigator-USA at the IFT expo in New Orleans this week, where there was a lot of discussion about the misconceptions people may have about processed food. He said that manufacturers need to communicate better with the public in order to dispel myths that have arisen in recent years about the nutritional content and safety of food products.
