Flavorchem launches new Hispanic flavors for dairy products

Flavors and colors specialist Flavorchem Corporation has introduced a new line of Hispanic-inspired flavors for yogurts and other dairy products to tap into growing demand for more authentic tastes and aromas.

Vice president of sales and marketing Phil Sprovieri said: "In the US we are concentrating on the Hispanic market.

“When you are in Guadalajara you see vendors along the side of the road with large jars containing horchata, tamarindo (tamarind), and limosa (lime) beverages.

“We now offer those flavors for milk and dairy products, and have added guava, mango, pina colada, and chocolate with cinnamon to our Hispanic line of flavors.”

Hispanic market potential

According to a recent report (click here) from Nielsen, firms that can address the needs of the US Hispanic market can unlock significant growth opportunities.

Nielsen’s vice chair, Susan Whiting, said: “Due to the general youth of this segment, family focus, strong culture and prevalent Spanish-language use, Hispanic consumers are impacting all areas of work and play and helping to redefine American culture in the 21st century.”

According to the NPD Group, Hispanics now make up 16% of the US population. (Click here for more details.)
