Aimed at producing high-quality HPP systems at low cost, Avure’s new facility plans to start its operations in Middletown, Ohio in the third quarter of 2013.
According to Avure, HPP provides quality extension and longer shelf-life of up to twice the length of products containing alternative preservation.
Avure claimed the technology makes safer, fresher, better-tasting, more natural foods and the facility due to open is focused on manufacturing, engineering, procurement, and customer service operations.
President and CEO of Avure Technologies Jan Söderström claimed worldwide demand for its HPP technology is growing at a fast pace.
He said: “Establishing a North American manufacturing operation is a key step in building the global infrastructure to support the rapidly expanding market. It also demonstrates our commitment to maintaining Avure’s leadership position and advancing innovation for the benefit of our customers.”
Director of food operations Mark Morgan stated: “Avure will leverage the industrial infrastructure and the materials expertise found in south-western Ohio to deliver a great product to our customers.”
By working with state and city officials, as Ohio is a leader in the production of advanced food processing technologies, Avure was able to plan long-term objectives. Denise Hamet, director of economic development for the city of Middletown, welcomed the new facility and said: “We are excited to have Avure Technologies join our diverse advanced manufacturing and technology community. Our strategic location and the regional availability of a skilled, educated workforce helped to make us a good match.”
