Dow AgroSciences unveils new R&D facility at Indianapolis HQ
Dow AgroSciences has opened a new biotechnology research center at its Indianapolis headquarters.

The 175,000-square-foot R&D facility is part of a $340m expansion plan at the Indiana complex - announced in March 2010 - which will create more than 550 scientific and commercial jobs by 2015 and also includes the construction of a new 14,000 square foot greenhouse.

The biotech research center - which includes offices and laboratories - will support the R&D activities of more than 200 research scientists from the Advanced Technology Development (ATD) and Bioengineering and Bioprocessing Research and Development (BBRD) functions.

The facility was constructed with a goal of achieving certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and includes a large percentage of recycled materials, a reflective white roof, and an extensive heat recovery system in the basement to help control temperatures.
