Minebea Intec continues market development in Americas

Minebea Intec is to open a facility in Mexico to continue its market development in the Americas.

The location in Mexico City includes an office for sales and marketing, an area for technical services and support with a repair center and a warehouse to enable short delivery times for local customers.

Minebea Intec will offer checkweighers and equipment for detecting foreign objects (metal and x-ray inspection systems), as well as software for statistical process control and formulation applications.

The firm said the focus is on helping manufacturers within food, pharma and chemical industries.

Expansion in Mexico and France

Minebea Intec Mexico will be responsible for the country’s market including the local partner business which is the sales channel to bring the industrial scales product portfolio to industrial end-users.

The newly formed team will focus on the strategic development of the Mexican weighing and inspection market for all Minebea Intec products and services.

Willy-Sebastian Metzger, director business development & Strategy at Minebea Intec, said: “The opening of the Mexican office is an important step in Minebea Intec’s ongoing investment and expansion efforts in order to better serve existing and future customers in Latin America, but especially in Mexico that is the key market for Minebea Intec´s further development in Latin America.”

Minebea Intec, formerly known as Sartorius Intec, has also moved to new premises in Beauvais, Hauts-de-France.

Isabelle Baumlin, Minebea Intec country manager in France, said it used the move as an opportunity to make improvements.

“Our new premises offer a modern infrastructure and more space for our warehouse and workshop. Now we are perfectly organized to meet our customers’ needs in and around Hauts-de-France.”

The firm acquired French companies AaZ Pesage and Centre Pesage last year, previous partners and weighing specialists in the industrial sector.

The deals made Minebea Intec the third-largest weighing and inspection specialist in the French market.

“We look forward to developing and growing a strong and profitable business in France for the future. Our main goal is a better service and strong regional organization for our customers,” said Dr Bodo Krebs, president of Minebea Intec.

Product launch: X-ray inspection system

Minebea Intec, part of the sensing device business unit of the MinebeaMitsumi Group, has expanded its foreign body detection product range with the X-ray inspection system Dymond Bulk.

Dymond Bulk inspects bulk goods like nuts, smaller fruits, frozen vegetables and spices, coffee and seeds.

The X-ray inspection system identifies foreign bodies made from metal, plastic and stone as well as bits of dirt and glass.

It has real-time detection via colour-based contamination analysis.

“In food production, the ‘sorting and cleaning’ stage for raw materials is by no means a precise science,” said Michael Zabawski, global product manager inspection.

“The X-ray inspection system Dymond Bulk can make a significant difference here, increasing safety and quality parameters even before the refinement process.”

Dymond Bulk 80 has an x-ray power of 70 kV - 1.2 mA to 80 kV - 2 mA and detector resolution of 0.8 or 0.4 mm.

Dymond Bulk 120 has x-ray power of 80 kV, 2 mA and detector resolution of 0.8 mm as standard.

Both systems have a conveyor height of 800 – 999mm, belt speed range of 10 to 49 m/min (with standard drum motor) up to 73 m/min and IP34 as standard, IP65 optional and IP69K on request.
