Springboard is seeking to develop “high voltage challenger brands” with “authentic propositions and inspired founders” within one of four pillars: Natural & Organic, Specialty & Craft, Health & Performance, and Experiential brands via partnership or accelerator programs.
It has not spelled out what kind of investments it will be making, but a spokesperson told FoodNavigator-USA that "Partnerships can take many forms, and we are open to conversations with founders of authentic companies that fit our vision for the future of food."
Separately, Springboard is also launching an incubator program, focused on nurturing food and beverage startups at a pre-valuation stage in a 16-week program in Chicago.
Starting today (March 7) through April 5, Springboard will accept applications for “first-to-market, disruptive food and beverage startups,” said the company. Participants will receive financial support to build brands and guidance on how to raise additional funding, said Kraft Heinz, which said the incubator “may be too early stage” for brands with more than $10m in sales.
The Incubator’s infrastructure will provide program participants with dedicated workspace, and access to state-of-the-art pilot plants and commercial kitchens at the Kraft Heinz Innovation Center in Glenview, IL.
