Check out FoodNavigator-USA’s latest gallery of new products hitting US shelves as we approach the holiday season, from the inevitable pumpkin spice-themed wares, to protein mug muffins, and oat milk nitro cold brew lattes.
We begin with chia-fueled brand Health Warrior, which is tapping into the mug cake craze with a lower sugar, higher protein option made with ancient grains, nuts, and seeds, offering 12g protein (from fava beans, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds and sorghum), 6g sugar, and an excellent source of fiber. Just add water, stir, microwave for 60 seconds, et voila!
“We were struck by the popularity of single-serve ‘Mug Cakes’, a cake that can be made in a mug in the microwave and, also, astounded by the sky high amount of sugar in the average breakfast muffin (37g in a medium-sized blueberry muffin!); so we decided to create a low sugar, protein & fiber-filled plant-based breakfast that could be enjoyed like oatmeal and tasted like your favorite muffin,” explained VP of Marketing & Innovation, Julia Wing-Larson.
All flavors are now available on Amazon and HealthWarrior.com, and when available in stores, will be sold for $2.99 per Mug Muffin.
The brand is also introducing a new plant-based protein blend featuring pumpkin, hemp, chia, and flax seeds, coupled with pro- and pre-biotics.
Available on Amazon, HealthWarrior.com, and Thrive Market, the grain free, non-gmo, gum-, dairy-, and soy-free powder can be blended into smoothies, added to baked goods, or mixed with water or a non-dairy beverage for a pre- or post-workout shake.
