Check out FoodNavigator-USA’s latest gallery of new products hitting US shelves, from Oatly's debut in the frozen desserts aisle, to 'salad frosting' and Fruitlove spoonable smoothies from Kraft Heinz, Mermaid cereal from General Mills, and coffee-infused maple syrup from Runamok.
Non-dairy frozen desserts from Oatly - which recently debuted in Southern California via a food truck - will hit bodegas across New York this summer ahead of a wider launch at Wegmans and Whole Foods.
Each pint (MSRP $5.99) comes in 100% recyclable packaging, and contains oatmilk, coconut oil, sugar, dextrose, glucose syrup, rapeseed oil, mono and diglycerides of fatty acids, locust bean gum, guar gum, and sea salt.

Foodstirs - best known for its clean-label baking mixes - has launched a line of ready-to-eat products and refreshed its brand, ditching its white background for bright colors, redesigning its logo, and replacing its 'modern baking' strapline with 'junk-free bakery.'
The mini donuts, muffins and brownies (MSRP $2.99 to $3.99) - rolling out this month in Whole Foods and Fred Meyer - are shipped frozen and defrosted in stores, said the company, which has slashed sugar in its recipes by blending stevia, tapioca syrup, agave inulin, brown sugar and biodynamic cane sugar.
The latest innovation from Kraft Heinz is spoonable smoothie brand Fruitlove, which combines yogurt with fruit and vegetable purees (MSRP $1.99) in cups with 100-140 calories apiece. The launch follows the release of spoonable fruit smoothies from Dole, which are topped with fruit and granola.
However, a limited-edition version of Kraft Heinz's classic ranch dressing "disguised in a frosting tube" and renamed as 'salad frosting' complete with a new hashtag (#LieLikeaParent), generated far more debate, as commentators wondered whether this was just a bit of fun, or a depressing reflection of contemporary food culture.
Ocean Spray is also targeting kids with its latest innovation: Growing Goodness, beverage pouches which combine water, juice concentrates, soluble corn fiber for digestive health, natural flavors and ascorbic acid. Each pouch has 40 calories and 8g sugar (from the juice concentrates).
Made with pea protein, sunflower oil, beets, sweet potato, butternut squash, and carrot, the soy- and gluten-free Perfect Burger from Dr Praeger's contains 20g plant protein and less sodium and fat than other leading plant-based brands, claims the firm.

Lifeway Foods has teased the launch of Plantiful + CBD, a CBD-infused version of its plant-based probiotic beverage, which it says it will release once there is more clarity from the FDA about the cannabinoid's legal status.
“Mental health is as important as physical well-being, and CBD shows promise as way to promote lowered anxiety and stress relief,” said CEO Julie Smolyansky.
“Science has shown that probiotics are natural inflammation reducers, and we believe that the addition of CBD will create an unmatched combination in the beverage space.

The latest innovation from Runamok is a coffee-infused maple syrup that works particularly well with vanilla ice cream, Rhode Island-style Coffee Milk, and White Russian cocktails.
Mermaid cereal is a new puffed corn cereal from General Mills featuring whole grain corn and fortified with vitamins and minerals. It is colored with artificial colors Yellow #6, Red #40, and Blue #1.
Safari Cocoa Crunch from Mom's Best Cereals - which is hitting the market in July - is also made from puffed corn.
Sargento Sunrise Balanced Breaks combine cheese and other ingredients such as walnut oat granola, quinoa clusters or maple pumpkin seeds for a satisfying but simple breakfast, snack or mini-meal.
New from Israeli startup The Mushroom Benefit are extruded Umamis Crunchy Snacks combining king oyster mushrooms and corn, made via a process "that yields a generous 40g-equivalent hit of fresh mushrooms per serving."
Osso Good is also tapping into the goodness of mushrooms in its latest launch: Mushroom Vegetable Broth. Along with a new veggie broth, the new products meet demand for more plant-based options, said the firm, which is best-known for its bone broth.
