Hormel's new premium ham comes with a maple glaze

US pork processor Hormel has unveiled a new premium ham that contains a maple glaze.

The Vermont Maple Spiral Sliced Half Ham, a bone-in, premium ham made with real Vermont maple is now available.

The ham comes with authentic Vermont maple flavor baked into the ham along with a tasty glaze packet for added flavor and crunch. Additionally, each ham is individually stamped with Hormel Curemaster's signature of approval.

“The new Hormel Cure 81 Vermont Maple Spiral Sliced Half Ham is fully-cooked and perfect for that special occasion, family get-together, or holiday meal,” said Megan Elliott, brand manager at Hormel Foods. “You can trust the Hormel® Cure 81® brand to help you deliver an irresistible ham we're sure everyone will love!”

Elliott explained why the brand utilised maple in the new product. “We noticed maple flavor trending on menus within the foodservice space on restaurant menus, both casual and fine dining," she said. “Additionally, we saw maple trending in the grocery store in areas including refrigerated meats, making a real Vermont maple option a natural fit for the Hormel Cure 81 brand.”

Hormel Cure 81 Vermont Maple Spiral Sliced Ham will be sold at select US retailers such as Kroger, Price Chopper, Hy-Vee and Brookshire Grocery Company.

Hormel recently announced that it has reached its goal of reducing energy usage by 10% a whole year ahead of schedule.
