Socati receives USDA Organic Certification for CBD lineup anticipating industry-wide shift to organic
Hemp processor and supplier Socati Corp has received USDA Organic certification for its CBD ingredients (broad and full spectrum oils).

Socati has also developed a partner supply chain of  finished goods manufacturers to deliver its full private label offering (crystalized flavored powder, gummies, tinctures, softgels, tablets, and capsules).

"A lot of this was customer driven (requested by our customer base), until now there was not a USDA certified organic broad spectrum product available on the market for consumers,” said Mark Elfenbein, chief revenue officer at Socati, which believes there will be a "widespread shift" to premium USDA Organic certified CBD products.

Last year, Socati acquired global manufacturer of specialty compounds, Blue Marble Biomaterials, to scale its proprietary extraction and processing technology of broad spectrum hemp extract with below lab-detectable levels of THC.

USDA Organic certification and consumer trust

And while the industry still grapples with forging a regulatory path forward for use of hemp-derived CBD as an ingredient in food and supplements under FDA guidance, Elfenbein noted that achieving the “rigorous evaluation process” of USDA Organic certification lends further credibility and consumer trust to its CBD supply chain and product quality.

“The ability to offer this level of supply chain standards and manufacturing standards in a certification easily understandable to the consumer we feel is very important for the industry right now," Elfenbein said.

The process involved a detailed review of several areas of Socati’s operations including an in-depth review of its manufacturing records to confirm stringent process and product traceability, analysis of the credentials and credibility of each supplier to ensure full organic compliance throughout the supply chain, and confirmation of cleanliness standards upheld in Socati’s processing facility.

Socati’s Montana-based cannabinoid ingredient manufacturing facility complies with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-recognized benchmarking requirements and adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for manufacturing, noted the company.
