Synergy Flavors has expanded several areas of its Illinois headquarters to support forward-looking flavor innovation and increased customer collaboration, said the company.

Synergy Flavors is part of Ireland-based Carbery Group, which has multiple locations across the globe including offices in the US, as well as production, research and development and technical facilities in Ireland, the UK, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, and Brazil.

New and improved areas include a beverage thermal processing pilot plant that includes microthermics capabilities, a flavor creation lab and significantly expanded analytical chemistry and sensory facilities, a flavor research and technology laboratory, as well as additional collaboration and workspace areas.

The research and development building is part of a series of facility updates Synergy Flavors has undergone since 2018 to keep up with the high growth the company has seen over recent years.

Last year, Synergy Flavors acquired Innova Flavors adding to its portfolio of extracts, essences, and compounded flavors and helping to meet growing demand for natural flavors and savory ingredients across the food and beverage industry.

“We are excited about the new additions to our research and development space at Synergy and look forward to continuously investing in our R&D facility to better serve our customers and employees alike,” said Mike Brown, VP of research, development, and innovation at Synergy Flavors. “We look forward to working side-by-side with our customers in this inviting new space.”
