James Caulfield to step up as PepsiCo CFO

PepsiCo announces new chief financial officer James Caufield, as long-standing CFO departs for pastures new this 30 November 2023.

James Caulfield will be taking on the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer following its current vice chairman and CFO, Hugh Johnston, planned departure later this month.

Caulfield who is currently senior vice president, chief financial officer for PepsiCo Foods North America has held a number of roles during this 30+ years at the company.

He previously served as senior vice president, investor relations from 2011 for eight years, as well as holding several roles in finance across Frito-Lay, before assuming his current position in 2019. 

Ramon Laguarta, chairman and chief executive officer spoke highly of Caulfield, as he expressed fortunate in the company having someone of Caulfield’s calibre and experience already within PepsiCo.   

"His experience within the company is as deep as it is broad and he has touched all aspects of our business in the last 30 years,” he added.

“The continuity which Jamie will bring to the high-performing finance function, coupled with his relentless attention to detail and commitment to PepsiCo, is evidence that we have the right person for the job. “

Meanwhile, after 34 years, Johnston will be leaving PepsiCo for a role as CFO at The Walt Disney Company.

Under his financial leadership the company has transformed significantly, and he has been a strong partner to me for many years.
