Deniz Ficicioglu is CEO of Bettafish, a European tuna alternative company that uses seaweed and fava bean protein for its tinned and jarred plant-based tuna products. Along with co-founding Bettafish in 2018 and authoring two cookbooks, Ficicioglu was also named one of V-Labels “Food Hero’s” and EY’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women 2022, highlighting her commitment and leadership in redefining the food industry.
Will Biggar is CFO for Local Coho – a New York-based aquaculture business that raises sushi-grade Coho salmon in freshwater in land-based RAS (recirculating aquaculture systems) near major cities. Biggar brings his expertise in fundraising, investor relations and partnering to lower buildout costs to Local Coho. Previously, Biggar worked with other growth-stage food business including MightyVine, Handcut Foods and Local Foods. He also is managing partner of 2050 Ventures, an investment firm that invests in and advises disruptive technology that supports the supply chain to feed the world's growing population.
Moria Shimoni, Ph.D., is the chief technology officer and co-founder of Forsea Foods, a foodtech company that focuses on seafood meat cultivation, most notably its cultivated eel. Shimoni is an experienced biologist, R&D executive and entrepreneur with a wealth of experience in leading technological and transformational initiatives. In her past role as executive VP of R&D at Believer Meats, Shimoni led the tech strategy while, implementing, managing and evaluating the company's technology resources, IP, regulation and leading the R&D teams to scaling up. He also was CTO and co-founder of VAYU Sense - a company that developed a revolutionary real-time, high-sensitivity, bio-process control system for optimizing fermentation and bioreactor processes.
