USDA considers lifting BSE border ban

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has proposed an end to the ban of Canadian cattle imports under 30 months old. Canadians currently lose an estimated €9 million a day from the restriction.

Canadian minister welcomes US mad cow decision

At the end of last week the USDA published a proposed rule aimed at ending the ban on imports of Canadian cattle under 30 months old, deemed to be at low risk for mad cow disease.
